‘Never seen that before’ – Jalen Hurts’ improbable play pains fantasy owners
Jalen Hurts entered rare territory on Monday Night Football, though it’s not the kind of milestone any player would want.
In the second quarter against the Chargers, the Eagles quarterback committed an unusual blunder, turning the ball over twice on the same play.

Not once, but twice. On the same play. Seriously, try to keep up.
Hurts threw a wayward pass that was picked off by Chargers defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand.
During Hand’s return, the ball was knocked loose by Will Shipley, and Hurts recovered it himself. However, he would fumble it away moments later.
The Chargers pounced on the second turnover, completing a chaotic and unforgettable sequence.
As wild as the play was, and as Philly fans screamed expletives at their TVs, it also caused major frustration for fantasy football owners everywhere.
ESPN’s Field Yates, a noted fantasy football expert, couldn’t believe his eyes.
“The fantasy points on that play: Jalen Hurts loses 2 points for the interception, then loses 2 more points for fumbling the ball after recovering the other fumble on the play. -4 points on one play. Never seen that before,” Yates posted on X.
Being responsible for minus-four points on a single play is as rare as it gets.
According to ESPN Insights, it was the first time since at least 1978 that a player committed two turnovers on a single play.
Pretty hard to do.

“Jalen Hurts is costing me an amazing fantasy season,” one fan posted on X.
“Jalen Hurts is simply Justin Fields surrounded by a bunch of Ferraris,” another fan chimed in.
It’s been a pedestrian season for Philadelphia’s offense, with new pains and problems seeming to crop up every week.
Monday night was no different.
