NBA rumors: Bucks ‘comfortable’ with Heat’s Giannis Antetokounmpo trade offer, but there’s a catch

The Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat rumors appear to be picking up steam. Per a report by Jerry Woffler, the Bucks are comfortable with the Heat’s trade package for the two-time MVP, but there’s one caveat: they want a third team to be involved.

“Sources claim the Bucks are comfortable with the Heat’s offer for Antetokounmpo but have been trying to enlist a third team to sweeten the deal.”

Per The Athletic, the package that the Heat are presenting to the Bucks includes Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakučionis, and draft picks. They also reported that the Miami Heat had interest in a trade for Antetokounmpo leading into the trade deadline.

“The Heat were aggressive in trying to land Antetokounmpo at the February trade deadline, when league sources say they thought a deal would get done before the Bucks ultimately backed away. This time around, with league sources indicating that the package is likely to include Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., either Pelle Larsson or Kasparas Jakučionis and draft capital (they can offer up to three first round picks), Miami is still widely seen as the frontrunner in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.”

The Heat appear not to be the only team in the sweepstakes to land Antetokounmpo. Per The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer, the Celtics are monitoring the trade market for the Bucks star.

“Earlier in the week, league sources with knowledge of the situation maintained that Boston had not yet seriously engaged Milwaukee on an Antetokounmpo trade … but they also declined to rule out the possibility of the Celtics eventually entering the fray. Rival teams, furthermore, continue to point to Boston’s various assets as illustrating its ability to become a factor here,” Fischer continued.
