National League club release angry statement as player features in Baller League without permission

National League side Wealdstone have released a statement following one of their players’ involvement in Baller League.

Sak Hassan, who is contracted to Wealdstone, spent Monday night competing in the new season of Baller League.

Hassan turned out for KSI‘s new team, Prime FC, where he scored the opener against N5 FC.

But Wealdstone aren’t happy and revealed they didn’t give their player permission to play in the six-a-side competition.

In a statement, they said: “We are aware that Sak Hassan, under contract with Wealdstone FC, appeared in this evening’s Baller League.

“The club was not approached for permission for Sak to participate, nor were we made aware of his involvement in advance.

“We will now be following up with both the Baller League and the player directly.

“No further comment will be made until those discussions have taken place.”

It’s clear the player took part without letting the National League club know.

And in an interview during the broadcast, Chunkz asked KSI how he got Hassan to play for his team on Monday night.

KSI replied: “You mentioned him to me, so I talked to him and I was like, ‘bro, I got a big thing coming.’

“At this point, I didn’t mention Daggers…I was like bro, I’ve got big things…so, there is that, and then also said, bro, think of the clout.”

Fans unhappy

It’s unclear what will happen to Hassan now, but in the comments, plenty of Wealdstone fans were furious.

One said: “Clearly not a team player with no respect for our club. Mickey Mouse Football over National League Football.”

Another added: “He’s just thrown a huge opportunity away with only himself to blame there.”

“The stones are bigger than one player that barely ever plays, if he cares more about @BallerLeagueUK then he can make a permanent move to them! Stones have bigger and better things to worry about!” a third wrote.

Meanwhile, a fourth asked: “Why does he needs to ask for permission to play in a 6-a-side tournament?”

And a fifth fan said: “He’s just having a kickabout with some amateur level players on YouTube hardly a big deal.”

KSI’s new venture

Not only is KSI a manager in Baller League, he is also now a co-owner at Wealdstone’s former National League rivals Dagenham and Redbridge.

KSI is officially a shareholder and strategic partner at the club, and aims to take them to the Premier League.

But first, promotion from the National League South needs to be achieved.

The Daggers are more than likely looking at next season for that because they are 12th at the moment, nine points off the final play-off spot.

If they were to get promoted to the National League, they would likely come up against Wealdstone next season.

And that could be an awkward moment for KSI and Hassan after their secret dealings at Baller League’s opening night.
