Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur predictions and betting tips – Carrick’s men to march on
Manchester United made it three wins out of three under Michael Carrick last weekend, as a last-gasp Benjamin Sesko strike earned them maximum points against Fulham.
Tottenham Hotspur stopped the rot with a 2-2 draw against Manchester City, but has a corner really been turned? Perhaps we will find out at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur predictions
When your luck is in, your luck is in.
Having upset the odds to masterminded back-to-back victories over Manchester City and Arsenal in his first two games as Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick was warned that his third match at the helm could be his toughest yet.
For one, Fulham were rightly identified as a very decent side. Secondly, they would probably have less of the ball than United, thus obliging Carrick’s men to switch away from the counter-attacking approach that served them so well against the top two teams in the Premier League.
Fulham actually ended up having more possession than United, in part because the hosts took the lead with just 19 minutes on the Old Trafford clock.
United doubled their advantage early in the second half, but two late goals from Fulham looked to have earned the west Londonders a point, leaving Carrick to contemplate the possibility of a first imperfect outcome as United boss.
Benjamin Sesko had other ideas. The former RB Leipzig man, who has had a difficult start to his United career, came off the bench to bag the winner in second-half stoppage time, sending the majority inside Old Trafford into raptures.
Things are looking up in the red half of the city. Optimism was in short supply towards the end of the Ruben Amorim era, but three straight victories – and, more than that, the manner of them – have lifted the mood considerably.
All of a sudden, United are fourth. With Aston Villa wobbling, the Red Devils are looking up rather than over their shoulder.
Tottenham Hotspur, for their part, are not looking as high as the top five right now. An 11-point deficit will surely be too large to overturn, but they at least showed plenty of fight in their comeback draw with Manchester City last time out.
Tottenham’s second-half showing in that match last Sunday has given Thomas Frank something to build on. The under-fire manager will hope it proves to be a turning point in a tenure that has not gone to plan up to now.
“I think we can create something magic together, the players and the fans when we are united like we were especially second half but also the [Borussia] Dortmund game (a 2-0 win),” Frank said after the 2-2 draw with City.
“That atmosphere, intensity, that’s what pushed the players and they really needed it.”
Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur betting tips
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go head-to-head this weekend.
More joy for Carrick
Tottenham Hotspur will look to draw belief from their away record this season, with Arsenal and Aston Villa the only teams to have collected more points on their travels.
But Spurs have not been as effective at opposition grounds in recent weeks, winning only one of their last seven league matches on rival soil.
Manchester United have the bit between their teeth at the moment and they are likely to prove too strong for Spurs in this one.
United have been let off the leash by Carrick and the team has responded by producing some excellent attacking football.
With the home fans behind them at Old Trafford, United should triumph once more.

Fast start for hosts
Even under Amorim, Manchester United had a knack for getting out of the blocks quickly.
Since the start of the season, only Manchester City and Arsenal have better records from minutes one to 45.
United have held a lead at the interval in 10 out of 24 games, including seven out of 12 at home.
Tottenham are often sluggish starters, as they were in that 2-2 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
United are likely to be ahead when the referee brings the first half to a close on Saturday.

Cunha on target?
Much like most of his team-mates, Mateus Cunha appears to be enjoying life under Carrick.
Patrick Dorgu’s injury has opened up a spot for Cunha in the starting XI, and he took full advantage of that by scoring Manchester United’s second goal against Fulham.
Stationed on the left-hand side of United’s four-man attack, Cunha has the license to drift infield onto his stronger right foot.
The Brazil international has the personality as well as the quality to thrive as a United player, and he will no doubt have an impact on this game against Tottenham Hotspur.
