Louisville hosting former 5-star target, Arkansas transfer
Louisville basketball swooped up two offseason wins already in landing Flory Bidunga (Kansas) and Jackson Shelstad (Oregon). Now Pat Kelsey and company are hosting a former five-star target and one who just left Arkansas: Karter Knox.
Louisville insider for 247Sports Jody Demling reported Knox is visiting the campus on Tuesday.
“The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Knox, whose brother, Kevin, played at Kentucky, originally committed to John Calipari while the head coach was still at Kentucky in 2024. After Calipari took the Arkansas job in April of that year, Knox followed him to Fayetteville,” Demling said. “Louisville was one of the finalists for Knox out of high school.”
Knox surpassed more than eight points per game in his two seasons at Arkansas. Although he settled for a lower PPG total this past season at 8.1. He managed to improve his rebounds to 4.5, though.
The past blue chip recruit is recovering from a late season ailment. Knox needed to undergo meniscus surgery in the middle of February and never took part in the Razorbacks’ March Madness run.
He witnessed Calipari and the team land in the Sweet 16. Arkansas avoided a potential disastrous second round loss against High Point. But Arizona smashed the Razorbacks in the West Regional semifinals 109-88 in San Jose.
Knox would join the nation’s top-ranked College Basketball Transfer Portal class if he chooses UL. Louisville is closing on delivering one other epic portal move.
Saint Mary’s star forward Paulius Murauskas is trending to land with the Cardinals. Murauskas averaged 18.4 PPG for the Gaels and is one of the top bigs available.
