Liverpool fans rage at ‘sackable offence’ as shocking Premier League stat emerges amid Brighton loss
Liverpool’s defeat to Brighton on Saturday was the 27th time they have been outrun by the opposition in the Premier League this season.
And for Reds fans, they have labelled the damning statistic as a ‘sackable offence’ for Arne Slot.

The Merseyside outfit lost 2-1 at the Amex Stadium in a clash that saw kick-off pushed back by 15 minutes.
Things got off to the worst possible start for the visitors when star striker Hugo Ekitike left the pitch in tears after picking up an injury.
Danny Welbeck added to Liverpool’s woes by breaking the deadlock in the opener in the 14th minute, before Milos Kerkez equalised on the half-hour mark following a Lewis Dunk error.
Welbeck would restore the Seagulls’ lead in the 54th minute with the hosts to hold on for all three points down on the south coast.
The loss saw Liverpool fail to briefly leapfrog Aston Villa into fourth spot after suffering their second top-flight defeat from their last three fixtures.

It is the first time since the 2015/16 season that Liverpool have lost ten league games.
That’s more defeats than in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons combined [eight].
While they have shipped in more goals [42] than they managed in each of the previous two terms.
But for Liverpool fans, the fact they have outrun their opponents in just four out of 31 league matches is their biggest concern.
Reacting to the statistic after Brighton outran Liverpool by over 5km, one supporter posted on X: “This is a sackable offence.”

Another posted: “Slot is to blame. Lad has no tactics.”
A third added: “This is our state after winning the first 5 games of the season. Abysmal.”
This user then commented: “How many more sackable offences does he need to rack up before it happens? I’m tired.”
Meanwhile another simply stated: “Everything this manager does is a sackable offence.”
How did Arne Slot react to the loss?
Speaking to talkSPORT following the clash, Slot suggested the club are missing key players due to injury such as Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah.
Commenting on the drop-off in quality in the second half, the Dutchman said: “It was so much of a different level, I think in the first half we played quite well, especially in the beginning of the game.”

Slot continued: “We missed out on one of the best strikers the Premier League has seen in the last three or four years, Alexander Isak, throughout the whole season.
“And we missed out on one of the best goalscorers the league has seen in the last eight years, Mo Salah.
“And then after two minutes, I have to take off Hugo Ekitike, who’s had a lot of impact this season, and I’m looking at the bench and I have to adjust again.”
The ex-Feyenoord boss concluded by saying: “Brighton is a very well-managed team with some great individuals.
“So, yeah, I can go on with a few other reasons why we were better on Wednesday [against Galatasaray in Champions League] than we were today, but maybe this is enough.”
