The Toffees can move level on points with Brentford in seventh with a win tonight, as they look to bounce back from a 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth in their last outing.

David Moyes‘ side came out on top in their last meeting with United, claiming a 1-0 win at Old Trafford in November.

  • Man United have more away wins (19) and more wins overall (42) against Everton than any team has against another in Premier League history.

  • Everton are winless in their last five league games at home (L3 D2), while they have lost five of their last nine Premier League games (W2 D2) at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. This is the same amount of defeats they had in their previous 28 fixtures (W12 D11).

Everton vs Man United: Team news

Moyes has a near full-strength squad to choose from ahead of a reunion with his former club.

Jack Grealish is a notable absentee, with the Man City loanee out for the rest of the season following foot surgery on a stress fracture.

Elsewhere, Jake O’Brien is suspended after being sent off against Bournemouth in Everton’s last Premier League match.

As for United, Mason Mount remains sidelined with a knock picked up in training, which has caused him to miss his side’s last three games.

Matthijs De Ligt is still out with a back injury, and has now not featured for the Red Devils since November.

Patrick Dorgu completes United’s list of absentees following a hamstring injury sustained against Arsenal last month, and is not expected to return until April at the earliest.

Everton vs Man United: What has been said?

Moyes admitted Everton will be looking to draw on their battling win over United earlier in the season as they head into their Monday night clash.

The Scot said: “It seems a long time ago (the victory in the reverse fixture), but it was a hugely important three points.

“We got a really good goal and did well enough to hang on to it. It was a really important three points and these three points coming up are important again.”

Meanwhile, Carrick was under no illusions over how tough a task will United face as they travel to Merseyside.

The former United midfielder said: “David [Moyes]’s teams are hard to play against, and he’s such a good manager, and with the experience he’s got and knowing what it takes to have success in this league.

“It’s a new challenge for us. So, it’s one we’re looking forward to. I think it’s one where we’ve had a lot of time to look forward to it. It’s going to take a lot.

“Going away to Everton, I know it’s a new stadium, but historically it’s always been tough, it’s always been the atmosphere and the supporters that they create.

“I think it’s always been one of the toughest ones that I’ve played away from home. So, we were aware of that. “
