Leeds vs Nottingham Forest betting tips and predictions: Three selections for Friday night clash

Leeds host Nottingham Forest in a crucial Premier League fixture at Elland Road and the match kicks off at 8pm on Friday.

The hosts were beaten 4-0 by leaders Arsenal last weekend while Forest claimed a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace despite having defender Neco Williams sent off just before half-time.

Both clubs are hovering above the relegation zone after picking up 26 points from their first 24 matches this season.

That tally means they have a six-point buffer to 18th-placed West Ham but the survival rivals would love to bank another three points at Elland Road.

We have picked out three bets for Friday’s game and those selections make up a 31/4 Bet Builder.

Survival rivals set for tight clash at Elland Road

Leeds were outclassed by Arsenal at Elland Road last weekend but they had been in fine form before their 4-0 defeat against the Premier League leaders.

Daniel Farke’s men had lost only one of their previous 10 league matches and five of their last six games ended with under 2.5 goals.

That run includes a 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield and a 1-1 home draw against Manchester United while Leeds also beat Fulham 1-0 at Elland Road last month.

Another low-scoring game is expected when they host Nottingham Forest, who have notched only 11 goals in 12 away league matches this term.

Forest are unbeaten in four top-flight games, including a 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the City Ground, although they lost 1-0 at Braga on their last Europa League away trip.

The only goals conceded by Sean Dyche’s side in their last four league fixtures were a Murillo own goal at West Ham and an Ismaila Sarr penalty for Palace so they could prove hard to break down at Elland Road.

Forest star should test home goalkeeper

Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest the perfect start to last weekend’s draw with Palace, pouncing on a loose clearance to put the Tricky Trees 1-0 up inside five minutes.

The forward also scored in two of his last three Premier League away matches, at Aston Villa and West Ham, and he should be backed to have a shot on target on Friday.

Gibbs-White had two of his side’s six attempts in the stalemate against leaders Arsenal and racked up three shots on target, including a saved penalty, on last month’s trip to Braga.

He was on the scoresheet in November’s reverse fixture, which Forest won 3-1, and should pose a major threat to the Leeds defence again.

Leeds likely to keep their discipline

Leeds have an impressive disciplinary record on their return to the Premier League, especially at Elland Road.

They received only three yellow cards in their last four home fixtures against Palace, Manchester United, Fulham and Arsenal.

Anton Stach, who misses Friday’s game due to injury, was the only Leeds player booked in December’s 3-1 home win over Chelsea and the hosts look a good bet to collect under 1.5 cards against Forest.
