“The first thing I dream about would be a home draw,” Daniel Farke admitted after beating Birmingham City in the fourth round.
“I would like to have a proper packed Elland Road in the next round.”
He finally gets his wish. A home cup tie at Elland Road, with a real opportunity of making the quarter-finals.
Beforehand, Leeds had been drawn away in 37 of their last 47 cup ties.
Farke may just need a couple more wins to ensure Premier League survival, so will go all out to give the fans and the whole club a memorable cup run.
It just so happens he faces his former employees. Farke enjoyed four great years with Norwich City, achieving two Championship promotions with the club.

Leeds vs Norwich predictions
Leeds’ path to the FA Cup fifth round has seen them beat Championship club Derby 3-1 and then edged Birmingham on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Norwich’s season has sparked into life since the turn of the year after new manager Philippe Clement weaved his ideas into the players.
As well as an uptick in form in the league, he’s navigated the early cup rounds with a 5-1 home victory over Walsall and 3-1 victory against fellow Championship club West Brom.
The head-to-head against these two teams makes for interesting reading, Leeds won 2-0 at Elland Road in January 2025 on their way to the Championship title.
Norwich did claim a draw at Carrow Road in October 2024.
Leeds vs Norwich betting tips
Joel Piroe plundered 73 goals in 179 matches, during his four years playing in the Championship.
He may not be Farke’s first choice in the Premier League. But Piroe has proved just how prolific he can be against this level of opposition and where the edge could be found in the betting market.
Norwich could start the lively 23-year-old forward Mathias Kvistgaarden up top, especially with Clement sweating on the fitness of January signing Mohamed Toure, who’s already scored in the FA Cup and has four goals in four league matches.
But Farke will feel this is a big opportunity for his side to go deep in the cup and won’t rotate too much. In that sense, Dominic Calvert-Lewin should feature and may prove decisive in an entertaining affair.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score, Leeds to win and BTTS – 13/5 with Sky Bet
- Joel Piroe to score first – 5/1 with Betfred
- Mathias Kvistgaarden to score anytime – 161/50 on SBK
