LeBron James has the perfect pick for Super Bowl LX

It’s Super Bowl week, baby! It’s the final week of the 2025 NFL season, and it will end with a matchup that fans from the 2010s might find a bit familiar. The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots are back in the Super Bowl and are taking each other on in the final game of the season. Fans are eagerly anticipating the matchup between two powerhouses of the league.

NFL fans are already choosing sides and saying who they’re rooting for in this matchup. Some want the Seahawks to win, partly due to the desire to see Sam Darnold’s redemption story have a happy ending and partly out of spite and not wanting the old Patriots dynasty to return. Others are rooting for Drake Maye and the Patriots to finish their Cinderella season perfectly.

If you ask Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, though, the answer is quite simple. After the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Golden State Warriors, LeBron went full NFL bandwagon fan mode and said that he’s rooting for whoever wins the Super Bowl.

If there’s one thing that NFL fans can agree on this Super Bowl weekend, it’s that no one expected either team to be playing this weekend, let alone both of them. After acquiring Sam Darnold, Seattle was seen as a potential playoff contender, but not a team that would go deep. In contrast, expectations were low for New England after picking up Mike Vrabel as their new head coach.

Yet, here we are. Darnold built upon his breakout season in Minnesota last season and helped the Seahawks dominate the NFC en route to the first seed. Backed with arguably the best defense in the league, Seattle is on the cusp of getting revenge on the team that broke their hearts 11 years ago.

The Patriots’ path to the Super Bowl has been a bit similar to the Seahawks’. After a solid rookie season, Drake Maye emerged as a bona fide MVP candidate, losing by just two votes to Matthew Stafford in the MVP voting race. Armed with a similarly stout defense, the Patriots-Seahawks matchup is expected to go down to the wire, just like it did 11 years ago in Super Bowl XLIX.
