Laura Woods issues one-word response as Eni Aluko reignites Ian Wright feud
Laura Woods has responded to Eni Aluko’s latest outburst over male pundits in women’s football.
The former England forward has appeared to reignite her feud with Ian Wright almost a year on from her previous comments.

Aluko had claimed in April 2025 that Wright’s advocacy for the growth of women’s football was holding back female pundits.
Although she later apologised for her remarks, the ex-Arsenal star said he could not accept her apology.
Aluko has now given her thoughts on the punditry choices for last summer’s Women’s Euros final between England and Spain.
The match was broadcast live by both the BBC and ITV, with a male pundit and two female former players on each of their panels.
Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha was part of the BBC’s coverage of the match, with Wright a pundit for ITV.
However, Aluko has now asked why herself and the Lionesses record appearance maker Fara Williams were not involved for the final.
What did Aluko say?
Speaking on the 90s Baby Show, the 38-year-old explained: “Last year at the Women’s Lionesses final, I’m sat in the stands, I wasn’t on it for ITV for the final.
“Farah Williams was next to me. Farah Williams has 170 caps for England.
“The two broadcasters that had the rights, ITV, BBC. On BBC, you’ve got Ellen White, Steph Houghton and Nedum Onuoha.
“No offence to Nedum Onouha, nothing against him, I don’t know whether he played for England or not. You’re on the main panel for the final for England Women.

“Let’s go over to ITV, I’m in the stands with 105 caps, so you have got two women with 290 caps, something ridiculous right. ITV, it’s Ian Wright, Emma Hayes and Kaz Carney.
“So out of six spots, two have gone to men, meanwhile you have got 290 (caps) sitting in the stands. I have never done a final and I am probably going to struggle to think of any woman, female pundit, who has done a men’s major final.
“I am talking about as a pundit, so something is not right there. Why are people like me and Faz (Fara) not there? It is nothing against Ian and nothing against them, I am just saying broadly speaking we need to be aware of that.”
Her comments quickly went viral on social media, with the clip shared to X on Saturday evening.
Woods reacts to Aluko
This caught the attention of ITV presenter Woods, who replied by simply commenting: “Wow…”
And when an X user asked whether Woods will defend Aluko, she responded by simply stating: “Nope.”

Woods had hosted the broadcaster’s coverage of the final in July, which England won on penalties.
Their victory secured back-to-back Women’s Euros for Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses.
Aluko was amongst ITV’s line-up of pundits for the tournament in Switzerland but was not on the panel for the final.
As a player, she won 105 caps for England and scored 33 goals during a 12-year international career as well as representing Team GB at London 2012.
Meanwhile, at club level, Aluko featured for Birmingham, Charlton and Chelsea alongside spells in the USA.
She retired in 2019 following a season in Italy with Juventus, where she won the Serie A title to add to her three Women’s Super League triumphs with Chelsea.
