Latest Astros’ Jose Altuve injury update will catch fans’ attention
The Houston Astros have had an up and down season. Jose Altuve is currently dealing with an oblique injury. Altuve is working hard to return. According to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, Altuve is expected to work out with the Astros this weekend.
“Jose Altuve will work out with the Astros this weekend in Houston. He’s flying back from Florida today,” McTaggart reported.
It seems as if Altuve is trending in the right direction. It remains to be seen when he will return, but it could be sooner rather than later as long as no setbacks occur.
The 36-year-old is hitting .245/.326/.380 across 42 games played. Altuve also has four home runs and 10 doubles. While he is not performing up to the same level he did during the prime of his career, Altuve is still an impactful player. Houston is hopeful that he can return soon.
Updates will continue to be monitored and provided on Jose Altuve’s injury status as they are made available.
The Astros currently hold a 25-32 overall record. Houston is in fourth place in the American League West standings. The team is three games behind the Seattle Mariners for first place in the division.
The Astros are preparing for the final contest of a four-game series on Thursday against the Texas Rangers. Houston is looking to clinch a series victory with a win on Thursday. It should be a competitive matchup between the ball clubs from Texas.
First pitch for the Astros and Rangers game is scheduled for 8:05 PM EST on Thursday night.
