Kendrick Perkins wants Jalen Brunson to make OG Anunoby a ‘motherf***ing All-Star’

New York is the media capital of the world; that’s a given. But with the New York Knicks coming in as defending champions, that moniker takes on a whole new level.

In other words, it is a case of repeat or bust. Therefore, the Knicks have to get all their ducks in a row to prove they still got it.

During an appearance on the Road Trippin Show, Jalen Brunson isn’t focused on the historic feat of winning the title, but what lies ahead.

“We don’t want to speak of the trophy, we don’t want to talk about the trophy, we don’t want to see the trophy,” Brunson said. “We want to come in with the same mindset if not even tougher mindset than we had last year.”

Later on, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins demanded that Brunson bolster OG Anunoby into a perennial All-Star.

“I got some advice, you know what you could do?”, Perkins asked. “At the start of training camp, well beyond training camp, you go up to OG (Anunoby), and you tell OG, hey bro real talk, this year I’m gonna make you a motherf****** All-Star. You are going to be in the All-Star Game this year, I’m going to make sure of that.”

Already, Anunoby’s historic tip in Game 4 of the Finals won him the hearts of Knicks fans throughout. His heroics propelled the Knicks to a five-game series win over the San Antonio Spurs for their first title in 53 years.

He received 36 votes for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, but didn’t make the cut. However, with the Knicks’ visibility greater than ever and coming off averages of 16.7 points and 5.2 rebounds, he has potential.
