Karl-Anthony Towns channels Frank Sinatra with epic Knicks championship montage

The New York Knicks are NBA champions, and the players are getting involved in the celebration. New York big man Karl-Anthony Towns released a montage to his Instagram page following the team’s Game 5 win over San Antonio.

The montage included a song that is considered one of the best ever written. That is My Way, by the legendary singer Frank Sinatra. Along with the music, Towns posted images of his journey through the NBA to the Finals this season.

The Knicks defeated the Spurs Saturday, 94-90 in San Antonio. It was the first NBA championship for the Knicks since 1973.

Towns scored just two points in Game 5, shooting just 1-for-7 from the floor. He still played a pivotal role for his team over the course of the NBA Finals. In the regular season, the Knicks big man averaged 20 points and close to 12 rebounds per game.

New York City is celebrating the Knicks

Following the team’s championship on Saturday night, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the city will hold a parade for the team. It will be on Thursday.

“For more than 50 years, New Yorkers have waited for this moment. Through near misses, heartbreak and a hope that every year could be our year, this city never stopped believing in the Knicks. And this team fulfilled that hope with grit, resilience and heart — just like the five boroughs itself,” Mamdani said, per the NBA. “New Yorkers have cheered for our team from packed living rooms in the Bronx to watch parties in Brooklyn, from bars in Queens to Staten Island to Manhattan, and Madison Square Garden itself. Now it’s time for our city to celebrate together. Bing bong.”

The Knicks last made the NBA Finals in 1999. That season, New York lost to the Spurs.
