JB Bickerstaff admits to what doomed Pistons in Game 3
JB Bickerstaff explained what went wrong for the Detroit Pistons in their Game 3 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
Detroit got off to a great start in the East semifinals, taking a 2-0 series lead after winning Games 1 and 2. They were rolling with five consecutive wins as they hoped to go up 3-0 after Game 3. However, they faltered down the stretch as they will have to go back to Detroit of Game 5 after taking care of Game 4.
Bickerstaff reflected on the loss after the game, per reporters Hunter Patterson and Jacob Richman. He criticized Detroit’s its defense towards Cleveland’s shot selection and the turnovers they made throughout this matchup.
“We just got to shrink the floor more. We’re just a little hugged up to our man too much because of their ability to shoot,” Bickerstaff said.
“Too many turnovers for us as a group, 16 is too many. Give up 27 points off those turnovers. Our defense is so stingy if we get you in the halfcourt. We’ve just gotta make sure we get shots on goal so we can set our defense and make people work.”
