Jake Paul reveals four-man list for next fight including Tommy Fury and Oleksandr Usyk

Jake Paul is yet again targeting combat sports’ biggest stars ahead of his return to boxing.

The 29-year-old’s return to the ring is likely to come at the end of 2026 or early next year, due to the lengthy recovery process required for his broken jaw.

Paul was smashed up by two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in his last fight, breaking his jaw in two places when the Briton knocked him out in the sixth round.

But Paul has no regrets over getting in there with ‘AJ’ for the lucrative Netflix clash, with both fighters earning up to a reported £100million each, and he plans on facing another big name upon his return.

The Cleveland, Ohio, native scored a sit-down interview with US President Donald Trump this week and discussed his boxing career, among other topics.

“So, who do you fight next?” Trump asked Paul, after admitting he watched the Joshua fight in December while on board Air Force One.

“Would you ever fight [Joshua] again?”

“No, I don’t think so,” Paul responded.

“I need to go and stay at my weight class.

“Maybe do some MMA—we’re promoting fights now on Netflix; we got Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano.

“Maybe [Oleksandr] Usyk in MMA, Francis Ngannou, Ryan Garcia, maybe Tommy Fury —there’s a lot.”

Paul then asked Trump who he’d like to see him fight, and his answer was quite astounding.

“Probably Khabib [Nurmagomedov],” Trump said.

Who is most likely for Paul’s next fight?

Although Paul admitted he was ‘down’ to fight the UFC legend, Nurmagomedov retired from competition six years ago and has repeatedly stated he will never return.

However, the four aforementioned names are genuine contenders.

Paul and Usyk have already both expressed their interest in sharing the cage in MMA, while Fury was the first man to defeat the American in boxing.

WBC welterweight champion Garcia also admitted last year that he turned down $20m to fight Paul before the fight with Joshua was set in stone.

The standout option, however, is Ngannou, who signed for Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) this month.

Ngannou faces Philipe Lins on the Rousey—Carano undercard on May 16 for his first fight since leaving the PFL.

‘The Predator’ was present at a press conference for the Netflix show this week and revealed his interest in facing Paul.

Ngannou was originally approached before Paul fought Joshua, rejecting the fight at the time, but has now changed his tune.

“You were just being a small boy, not understanding, being a little disrespectful, and that’s why I want to kick your a** now,” Ngannou told Paul in California.

“I really didn’t want to fight you, but now I want to beat you—so there’s a difference.

“Let’s do it. That’s why I stand by the statement that I want to beat you up.”

Paul responded: “I’m down [to fight Ngannou]; I have always been down.

“You were the option before Anthony Joshua, and you ran like a duck.

“I bet you didn’t think I would last longer than you did with Anthony either, so you just know you get worked in boxing.

“I would love to see it someday.”

Ngannou suffered a second-round KO to Joshua in his second pro boxing fight in March 2024.

Any agreement with Paul for a clash would likely be for a boxing fight, not MMA.
