World Cup pundit uses X-rated insult on live TV to leave Thierry Henry stunned

Fox Sports pundit Alexi Lalas left Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic stunned with an X-rated insult aimed at James Corden.

Ahead of the Group B game between Canada and Bosnia-Herzegovina, a video played an advert for Corden’s new show ‘After Hours with James Corden.’

Once the advert was over, presenter Rebbeca Lowe said: “Can we talk about James Corden for a second?”

That prompted Lalas to jump in.

He said: “What do you guys call them? A full kit w*****, right?”

That stopped his three co-hosts in their tracks, but he kept going.

He added: “He’s all dressed up and ready to go.”

A clearly shocked Lowe regained composure to say: “Okay, lucky we’re on American TV.

“Because the W-word on British TV…”

In the video that Lalas was referencing, Corden appears in a full USA kit from head to toe.

The show premiered on Thursday and is set to be on Fox until the end of the tournament.

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand and comedian Ian Karmel are also involved as they recap the day’s action.

Speaking about his new show, the Brit said: “Every night after the games, we’re going to be trying to have a lighthearted look at the World Cup, talking about the games, talking about anything that may have happened that day, and what we’re going to do is make it feel like if you couldn’t be out with your friends in a bar that night, we’ll be there to have some fun.”

Crossed wires

From the way Lalas said his statement about Corden, it’s likely he had no idea what the x-rated term he said means in the UK.

But for Lowe, Henry and Ibrahimovic, it was a truly stunning moment.

Encouraging signs

The four were reviewing and previewing the games so far, and all of the matches have had goals and action.

Mexico started things off on Friday at the incredible Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

It was a repeat of the 2010 World Cup opener as South Africa took on the co-hosts.

The African nation didn’t really turn up and lost two men to red cards, with Mexico running out 2-0 winners.

Raul Jimenez scored an emotional goal in the second half and dedicated it to his late father in a moment he’ll never forget.

The second match saw South Korea come from 1-0 down to beat the Czech Republic 2-1 and put themselves into a good position in Group A.

And Canada claimed their first-ever World Cup point thanks to a 1-1 draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Southampton’s Cyle Larin came off the bench to score the equaliser late on.

Next up is the USA taking on Paraguay as the final co-host get their campaign underway.
