Jack Wilshere dragged away from furious Luton fans by his own players in ugly post-match scenes
Jack Wilshere had to be dragged away from the stands by his own players as he confronted angry fans on Saturday afternoon.
The Luton Town manager found himself on the end of a furious reaction as his side drew 1-1 with Burton Albion.

Wilshere‘s side took the lead early on in the game through Nahki Wells, but went on to concede in stoppage time.
And the result took Luton’s winless streak to three games, seeing them drop down to 10th in the League One table.
The Hatters were playing in the Premier League just two years ago and now they are sitting mid-table in the third tier.
That, and the fact that the club have a higher budget and more talented squad on paper compared to most sides in the division, has led to major fan unrest in recent weeks.
Things boiled over for Wilshere and Luton after the late draw against strugglers Burton and the ex-Arsenal midfielder lost his cool.
Luton’s players and their boss headed off the pitch to a chorus of boos and anger from the home support.
And just as Wilshere was about to enter the tunnel at Kenilworth Road, he stopped in his tracks to stare at the supporters.
He stood still for a few seconds before shouting back furiously, and his players had to step in and drag him away.
Footage then shows him disappearing down the tunnel.
Wilshere’s struggles
In what his first job as a senior manager, Wilshere is clearly struggling to win over the support at Luton.
He’s taken charge of 27 games in total at the club, winning 11, losing 10 and drawing six so far.
But after two poor results in a matter of days against relegation-threatened teams, the Hatters have now dropped down to 10th in League One and further away from the play-offs.
Luton will have had the aim of instant promotion back to the Championship after relegation last season.
But they are currently 22 points off the automatic promotion spots and six off the play-off places.
Wilshere’s side have lost three of their last six and that has led to things going awry for the former England international.
His previous spells as a coach before Luton came as caretaker and assistant at Norwich, after a successful spell as Arsenal U18 boss.

What has Wilshere said?
Speaking post-match, Wilshere discussed the boos from fans, saying: “It wasn’t just the end, it was from the first minute.
“The players were having to face that and right now, in this moment, we have to accept where we are. We’re in League One because of what’s happened in the last couple of years.
“We’re fighting every single day to try and get better and to try and win games…we understand that Cardiff wasn’t good enough, Wigan wasn’t good enough, but we need belief.
“I’m trying to give the players belief but you can clearly see at the moment that they are lacking it and it then becomes difficult to play.
“I understand their frustrations, of course I do, we have to do better in certain moments, but right now everyone has to be together.
“That is the only way that we try to get out of this game, try to move forward and win games. It feels difficult at the moment.”
