Isiah Thomas drops NSFW review of Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama NBA Finals treatment

The San Antonio Spurs have their backs against the wall going into Game 4 against the New York Knicks, as they currently trail 3-1 in the series. Game 4 is something they want to move past, but with how everything went down, it may be hard to do so easily. Nonetheless, they don’t have a choice but to come out and fight for their lives in the next game.

Victor Wembanyama has been giving it his all in this series, and he seems to be getting better after every game. He’s also dealing with a lot of physical play from the Knicks, and for the most part, he’s keeping his cool.

Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas recently stood up for Wembanyama and noted that the Spurs’ big man is going through a lot in this series.

“Wemby has been the victim of some of the dirtiest s–t ever. I mean, people are grabbing and holding him,” Thomas said on the Run it Back show.

“With Wemby, we’re allowing people to grab and hold him, knock him down. They literally have him locked up. With his demeanor, they’re lucky he hasn’t turned around and popped one of them in the face real quick,” Thomas continued. “Big men, normally you don’t get to be this aggressive with them without them having the ability to retaliate, hold their temper, and all of that.”

Thomas then gave Shaq credit for how he was able to manage the physicality back in the day. The rules are definitely different nowadays, so some things you could do back then won’t fly now.

With how tall Wembanyama is, teams are trying to find any way to get an advantage over him. At the same time, there have been times when Wembanyama has been on the other side and has gotten physical with other players, which is why he is one flagrant foul away from getting suspended for a game.
