IPL 2026: Top 3 KKR batters to watch out for
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took some bold calls after finishing eighth in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In 14 matches, they managed to win just seven. The most significant decision has to be the release of Andre Russell go and signing Cameron Green as his replacement. The three-time champions have bolstered their side with some other key additions.
In this article, let's take a look at the top three batters to watch out for KKR in IPL 2026.
IPL 2026: Top 3 KKR batters to watch out for
3. Cameron Green
Cameron Green was the most expensive pick in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. The Australian all-rounder was roped in for INR 25.20 crore by the Knights after an intense bidding war against the Chennai Super Kings. Green has played for the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the past. He has amassed 707 runs in 28 innings in the IPL at an average of 41.59 and a strike rate of 153.70. The 26-year-old also has 16 wickets to his name.
However, the one concern that KKR will have with their star signing is his recent form. During the T20 World Cup 2026, Green looked a pale shadow of his former self. He struggled in the spin-friendly conditions in Sri Lanka. However, most venues during the IPL produce belters, where batters can trust the bounce and play their shots freely. One good knock could bring Green back to his best.
2. Angkrish Raghuvanshi
This could be Angkrish Raghuvanshi's year to shine. He has already shown glimpses of his talent. In 22 matches, he has scored 463 runs at an average of 28.94 and a strike rate of 144.69. The 21-year-old is expected to play all the matches this season. He could be in the top-order, opening the batting with either Finn Allen or Tim Seifert.
However, if KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane decides to open the batting, Raghuvanshi could get the No. 3 spot. Raghuvanshi is a technically solid cricketer from Mumbai, who likes to keep the scoreboard moving. His intent is always to get the upper-hand on the bowlers.
1. Finn Allen
Finn Allen had a phenomenal time in the 2026 T20 World Cup. His best knock came in the semi-final against South Africa at Eden Gardens, the home of the Kolkata Knight Riders. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed an unbeaten century off just 33 balls. If he gets going, he is pretty hard to keep in check. For a man who has so much power, Allen has also worked on his ability to hit ramp shots and scoops to keep the bowlers guessing.
While Tim Seifert scored more runs than him during the T20 World Cup, Allen has the ability to bludgeon attacks and hand his side the momentum early in the innings.
