Hull v Millwall prediction

Millwall make the trip up to Yorkshire as favourites for their crunch promotion battle at the MKM Stadium on Saturday lunch time after picking up wins in four of their last five matches, losing just one of their last seven.

The strong run of form sees Alex Neil’s side currently occupying fourth place in the Championship table, just four points behind Middlesbrough in the automatic promotion places and nine points better off than seventh placed Southampton.

The Lions have lost fewer matches away from home this season than any other team in the Championship, with only Middlesbrough and Hull having picked up more points on the road ahead of their trip to weekend trip to Humberside.

Hull welcome the east Londoners to their lair having had their two match winning streak put to an end by fellow automatic promotion chasing Ipswich on Tuesday night, leaving the Tigers with four defeats in their last six matches now.

Sergej Jankovic’s side head into the weekend sat two points behind Saturday’s opponent, with Wrexham sat just three points beneath them in sixth, making the clash with Millwall a potential crucial one for them as defeat could see them drop out of the automatic promotion picture.

The Tigers have struggled to pick up the desired results in recent weeks in front of their home fans, losing three of their last four matches at the MKM Stadium, albeit one an FA Cup loss to Chelsea, leaving them with just one win from their last five home games.

The East Riding of Yorkshire side are, however, unbeaten in their last seven matches against Millwall though, winning three of their last four with the Lions scoring just once in that timeframe, while also picking up just one point from their last four visits to the MKM Stadium since 2020.

Millwall carry all the momentum into Saturday’s game with them though, and boast a very impressive away record while Hull’s home record leaves more than a little to be desired – which points towards a 2-1 away win perhaps being the most likely.

Hull v Millwall betting tips

Lions get better of Tigers

Millwall head to Hull having won four of their last five matches as well as each of their last three away from home to keep them very much in the running for the automatic promotion places, boasting the second best away record in the division.

Hull, meanwhile, have won two of their last three games but have lost three of their last four at the MKM Stadium, with just one in from their five home games since the beginning of February.

Femi on fire

Femi Azeez leads Millwall’s goals and assist tally for the season, with five goals contributions in his last five outings taking his tally to 14 for the campaign, which included him bagging an eighth goal of the season in the Lions’ last home outing against Birmingham.

Lundstram lectured

No Hull player expected to start on Saturday has received more yellow cards this season than central midfielder John Lundstram, the on loan midfielder having been cautioned on eight occasions so far this season.
