How Victor Wembanyama got ‘exposed, disrespected’ by Jalen Brunson, per Kendrick Perkins
The San Antonio Spurs face the grim reality of possibly losing the NBA championship to the New York Knicks. They trail 3-1 after blowing a 29-point lead to the Knicks in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.
The game revealed a lot, particularly the vulnerabilities of Victor Wembanyama, courtesy of Jalen Brunson, per Kendrick Perkins of NBA Today.
Perkins pointed out some particulars that Wembanyama was “exposed” by Brunson.
“The Defensive Player of the Year, in this series 1-on-1 has been getting exposed,” Perkins said. “The Defensive Player of the Year last night in the second half got disrespected. Jalen Brunson in the second half was called the Defensive Player of the Year in 21 of the actions and was picked on him. He scored on him 3 out of the 5 times that Victor was the primary defender.”
Kendrick Perkins says Jalen Brunson completely "exposed" and "disrespected" Victor Wembanyama in Game 4:

Brunson arguably got revenge on Wembanyama after shoving Brunson during Game 3, to which Wembanyama received no penalty.
In four games, Wembanyama is averaging 21.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He is also shooting 43.5% from the field and 29.6% from the 3-point line.
The Spurs, led by Wembanyama, are a very young group going up against an experienced Knicks roster that has forged unity over several years. The Knicks have made the postseason since 2022, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Spurs are playing in their second postseason since being absent from 2019 to 2025. The Spurs are looking to win their first NBA title since 2014.
Both Wembanyama and Brunson are playing in their first NBA Finals. Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio at 7:30 pm CST/8:30 pm EST.
