‘He wasn’t shy’ – Jamie Carragher issues demand to Mo Salah amid Liverpool crisis
Mohamed Salah has been told to prove himself as ‘one of the leaders’ in the Liverpool dressing room by Jamie Carragher.
Carragher called out the forward for not fronting the media following their latest Premier League defeat.

The Reds suffered their sixth loss in seven league matches on Saturday as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.
It leaves Arne Slot’s side 11 points adrift of leaders Arsenal and in the bottom half of the table.
Virgil van Dijk admitted the club is in a ‘mess’ after the match as he spoke publicly following the defeat.
Meanwhile, Slot pulled out of attending the Northern Football Writers’ Association awards despite being named Manager of the Year.
However, Carragher has criticised Salah’s lack of public reaction to his former club’s ongoing struggles.
The Champions League winner addressed the situation on Sky Sports during Monday Night Football, saying: “Van Dijk after the game has come out and spoken as he should do as a captain, he’s called Liverpool a mess.
“I must say on the back of all of these Liverpool defeats it’s always Van Dijk who comes out and, as I said the captain should do that, but there should be other players in that dressing room coming out and speaking for the club.
“A year ago this weekend Mo Salah wasn’t shy in coming out and speaking about his own situation, about the club not offering him a contract.
“I only ever hear Salah speak when he gets Man of the Match or when he needs a new contract.
“I’d like to see Mo Salah come out as one of the leaders, one of the legends of Liverpool and speak for the team, it shouldn’t always be the captain.”

Salah spoke publicly on several occasions last season amid the speculation surrounding his contract.
The 33-year-old’s deal had been due to expire at the end of the campaign before he signed a two-year extension in April.
His new contract came at the end of a season in which the Egyptian scored 29 goals and added 18 assists in the Premier League.
Salah’s tallies was enough for him to win both the Golden Boot and the Playmaker of the Season awards.
However, he has mustered just four goals and two assists in 12 league outings so far this term.
His performances even saw Liverpool legend Graeme Souness joke that Salah appears as if he has been replaced by his brother.

The former Reds captain added that he has concerns over Van Dijk’s leadership but believes he should remain captain.
Liverpool sit 11th in the table following their defeat to Forest at Anfield.
They could climb back into the top four as early as Sunday, though, if they beat West Ham away from home and results go their way.
