Has Travis Kelce ever won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award? Kansas City Chiefs star known for kind acts

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has made a serious impact both on and off the field.

Widely considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, the four-time First-Team All Pro has played all 13 seasons of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning three Super Bowls.

He has just over 13,000 receiving yards, 82 touchdowns, and 11-straight pro-bowl appearances.

But some argue that the impact that he has off the field is somehow more impressive than on the field.

Kelce founded the Eighty-Seven Running Foundation in 2015, with the ultimate aim of empowering disadvantaged youths to become productive citizens through fundraising and outreach initiatives.

Most recently, Kelce donated $10,000 to US Hockey star Laila Edwards so that her family could watch her compete at the Winter Olympics in February.

Travis Kelce has never won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award?

Kelce has been rewarded for his tremendous efforts off the field.

In 2025, he became the first-ever three-time winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity Challenge.

This is a fan-voted contest, with proceeds supporting his Eighty-Seven and Running foundation, but he has never won the main award.

The most recent winner was Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Arik Armstead.

Travis Kelce considering retirement

While Kelce’s off-the-field generosity is not coming to an end, his time on the field with the Chiefs could be.

The 36-year-old has openly expressed that he is considering retirement with his contract up at the end of the 2025 season.

The same question was asked of him at the end of the 2024 campaign, when the Chiefs failed in their three-peat quest.

Kelce, however, remained adamant that he could continue to play football at a high standard, emphasising the enjoyment he gets out of it.

Despite the Chiefs’ 6-12 record, Kelce put up another solid season, with 851 receiving yards and five touchdowns to earn his 11th straight Pro-Bowl appearance.

But, he won’t be playing in San Francisco on February 3, with some fans guessing the decision comes from him weighing retirement options.

The Chiefs want Kelce to return in 2026, as he has been an instrumental part of their three-time Super Bowl-winning dynasty.

But the decision ultimately lies with the dominant tight end, who has given his all the past 13 years, and has a career in broadcasting ready for him as well as the chance to ride into the sunset with bride-to-be Taylor Swift.
