‘Get him to UFC’ – Gable Steveson KO was so fast his opponent was out cold on takedown

The UFC are now facing widespread calls to offer a contract to Gable Steveson after his latest stunning KO.

When Steveson fought in Anthony Pettis’ APFC last weekend, he knocked out his opponent, Kevin Hein, in under 30 seconds.

The Olympic gold medallist landed a huge left hand that left Hein unconscious, before he went in for the takedown to seal a brutal win.

However, so rapid was his punch that Hein was already out cold by the time the takedown came.

Steveson followed Hein down to land one more sharp right hand before the referee promptly called the action off.

As the ref attempted to tackle Steveson off of a dazed Hein, he even went stumbling down to the canvas himself.

Although the Indiana native was none the wiser and immediately began celebrating his latest victory.

After reaping success in the second pro MMA fight of his career, he confirmed his sights are set on a contract to compete in Dana White‘s UFC.

With the hopes of taking the promotion by storm, Steveson is training with former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones.

The 25-year-old has certainly exploded onto the pro scene under Jones’ guidance, having established a reputation as an early-round knockout artist.

When he made his debut under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner in September, ‘Bones’ was in his corner as he scored a 99-second knockout win over Branden Peterson.

Jones is confident that Steveson’s ferociousness means he can take home gold in White’s promotion, and fans want to see him take on the UFC’s heavyweight contenders.

Fans react to Gable Steveson’s latest KO

After a clip of his recent knockout was posted by Full Send MMA on X, fans were quick to react in the comments.

One user called for White to sign him sooner rather than later, writing: “@danawhite can you sign this guy already?!?! DWCS is too far away.”

Another wrote: “More action in 20 seconds than a 5-round Sean Strickland fight. UFC needs to sign Gable pronto.”

While a third user complimented Steveson’s partnership with Jones: “Okay, the fact that he hit him and went for the takedown means Gable didn’t hit hard at all but was seeing up his shot.

“Can you imagine him sitting down on punches? Jon Jones is definitely accelerating his striking. I’m stunned.”

A fourth wrote: “He can definitely hang with unranked heavyweights in UFC and probably the top 15.”

Having had an extensive background as a multi-sport athlete, Jones thinks there is a possibility that Steveson is already ready to pen a deal with the promotion he has had so much success in.

Should that be the case, there is even the potential for the Indiana native to make his debut at the UFC White House.

UFC CEO, White, recently told the Jim Rome Show that his promotion “are definitely keeping our eyes on him, and we’ll see how this plays out.”
