Their five-year partnership will conclude at the end of this season.

On Thursday, Rovers revealed in a statement that Macron are taking legal action against them.

“The club has been served with court papers by its technical kit supplier, Macron S.p.A., in relation to a contractual dispute,” it read.

“The claim is being handled by the club with the support of its legal team and it would be inappropriate to comment further while legal proceedings are ongoing.”

As per The Telegraph, Macron have issued the claim against Rovers regarding a ‘breach of contract’.

It is related to an agreement that prevents the club from speaking to other suppliers before an exclusive renegotiation period expires.

Rovers are said to have told a fans forum that they had completed their process of finding a new kit deal beyond this year.

Castore and Umbro have been two rumoured names since then.

Tough times for Blackburn

Ewood Park has witnessed a difficult 2025/26 season, with relegation to League One a real possibility.

Rovers, who finished seventh and two points outside of the play-offs in the previous campaign, currently sit 22nd.

The 1994/95 Premier League champions are only a point away from safety, but 21st-placed Portsmouth have a game in hand.

In September, Blackburn’s home league fixture against Ipswich Town was abandoned in the 79th minute due to a waterlogged pitch.

Valerien Ismael’s side led 1-0, but the EFL announced that the match would be replayed in full.

It was eventually played on December 2 and finished 1-1.

Just days later, Blackburn had another match abandoned in similar circumstances, this time against Sheffield Wednesday.

The match will be replayed on February 3, with the visit Hull City coming before then on Saturday.
