Erling Haaland spotted at Hurricanes-Golden Knights Stanley Cup Final Game 5

The Carolina Hurricanes are looking for an important win in Game 5 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final. A win would bring them within one win of lifting the Stanley Cup. A lot of eyes are on Game 5 between Carolina and the Vegas Golden Knights. International soccer star Erling Haaland was one of many in attendance for this contest.

Haaland is in the United States to represent the Norwegian national team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Manchester City star is coming off a season in which he scored 27 goals in 35 matches played in the Premier League. Manchester City finished second in the Premier League, losing the league title to the winners, Arsenal.

Norway is not in action for another few days. They don’t begin their World Cup slate until Tuesday when they take on Iraq. Haaland and Norway are in Group I with Iraq, Senegal, and France.

The Hurricanes and Golden Knights played a rather close contest for much of the game on Thursday. However, Carolina took things over during the second period. Andrei Svechnikov scored a power-play goal in the second to give the Canes a lead. Later on, Sebastian Aho made it a two-goal lead after an incredible pass from Sean Walker.

Carolina has not won the Stanley Cup since 2006. However, it looks as if the Canes are on the doorstep of another title. The Hurricanes still need to finish this out. But they are in the driver’s seat as things currently stand. A win would give Carolina the chance to clinch the Stanley Cup on Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
