Emmanuel Acho blasts Jamahl Mosley, Magic for shameful Game 6 blowout

Emmanuel Acho didn’t hold back his criticism of Jamahl Mosley following the Orlando Magic’s collapse in Game 6 against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Orlando boasted momentum as they led 3-1 in the series before losing Game 5. They had homecourt advantage in Game 6 and had a 60-38 lead at halftime, on pace to win the series.

Then the second half happened. Orlando went cold for the last 24 minutes of regulation as they only mustered up 19 points as Detroit took control of the game and never looked back. Acho reacted to the game on social media, being highly critical of Mosley’s lack of leadership down the stretch.

“The Orlando Magic and Jamahl Mosley should be utterly ashamed of themselves for blowing this game. While Cade Cunningham & J.B. Bickerstaff didn’t flinch, Mosley sat there as his team completely unraveled and blew a 20 point lead in a close out game. No leadership. Disgusting,” Acho wrote.

“The Orlando Magic went 1-20 from the field and 0-10 from three in the 4th quarter of a close out game. They missed 27 of their final 28 shots. The Magic got outscored 29-8 in the final 12 minutes and lose with a final score of 93-79. 🤮

How Jamahl Mosley, Magic performed against Pistons

Jamahl Mosley and the Magic have some self-reflecting to do after that brutal collapse. They now have to play a series decider with Game 7 on the way, showing their lapses in Game 6 was costly.

Shotmaking and rebounding made the difference in this matchup. The Pistons prevailed in both categories by making 32 shots on a 40% clip and securing 52 rebounds. It wasn’t the same for the Magic as they converted 27 shots on 35% accuracy and grabbed 38 rebounds.

Three players scored in double-digits for Orlando in the loss. Paolo Banchero led the team with 17 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Desmond Bane came next with 17 points and three rebounds, while Tristan da Silva provided 10 points and six rebounds.

The Magic will fight to keep their season alive when they face the Pistons on the road in Game 7. The contest will take place on May 3.
