EFL club release ex-England striker after just two goals for the club
Danny Ings is on the search for a new club after being released by Sheffield United.
The 33-year-old was one of 12 senior players let go by the Blades, who announced their retained and released list on Monday.

Tom Davies and Jairo Riedewald are among those facing uncertain futures while Ben Mee has since retired.
The club also confirmed Kalvin Phillips was among the loan players who will return to their respective parent clubs.
Stranger Ings
Ings arrived last August on a one-year deal, with the option to extend it.
But the Blades evidently chose not to prolong Ings’ stay as the three-cap England international scored just twice across all competitions.
Ings’ first goal came in a 1-1 draw against Norwich City on December 9.
However, his second was far more impactul.
Ings netted in the 88th minute to hand the Blades a 2-1 win over Hull City on April 11.
The 33-year-old’s final involvement for Chris Wilder’s side was an 18-minute cameo off the bench in their last league fixture this season, a 2-1 win away at play-off hopefuls Derby County.
In total, Ings made 24 appearances for the Blades, but just six were starts.
Ings is now on the hunt for his eighth different club, having previously enjoyed stints at Liverpool, Aston Villa, Burnley, West Ham, Southampton and Bournemouth.

However, if his time at Bramall Lane proves to be his last stop in football, Ings will be kept busy by his property development company Hamwic Homes, where he is listed as a director.
Stand by Mee
For Mee, his time at the Blades marked the end of the road in an impressive career.
He came through Manchester City’s academy but made just one senior appearance for the club.
The centre-back instead rose to prominence during his 10-year stint at Burnley, where he went on to make nearly 380 appearances.
Three seasons at Brentford followed before he joined the Blades in September on a one-year deal.
“After loving every minute of my career, I’ve decided the time is right to call it a day and hang up my boots for the foreseeable,” Mee said on Sky Sports when announcing his retirement.

“It’s been a tough decision. Obviously it’s been my whole life, as any other footballer would tell you.
“But I had it in my mind this season was probably going to be my last season. I wanted to give it everything I had this season as play as many games as possible, but I felt it’s the right time.
“I’m looking forward to new challenges along the way and new chapter.”
