Eddie Hall explains why new feud with Tommy Fury’s dad John led to stunning fight

Eddie Hall wound up John Fury by calling out his son Tyson, which has now led to his clash with Tommy Fury.

As first uncovered by talkSPORT, former World’s Strongest Man Hall will take on undefeated boxer Fury on June 13 in Manchester.

The pair both carry huge profiles and will put it all on the line in a bizarre boxing clash staged by KSI’s Misfits Boxing.

Many believed the pair to be on good terms, given the pair have trained together in the past and filmed content.

But Hall has revealed that he agitated the Fury family with a call-out for an MMA fight with former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

And he suggested that this is why he has signed on the dotted line to face the younger sibling Tommy, to end their surprise feud.

“I bumped in John and I had the conversation about fighting Tyson, I saw he was training MMA,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“I was trying to instigate the fight but it rubbed him up the wrong way. But things got a little heated.

“Things got a little bit heated. You’re all full of s**t. You’re just all full of f***ing talk.

“You all walk around like hard men like you’re gonna beat this guy down, beat that guy down, you’ll fight anyone, you’re fighting men. There’s not a lot of action, especially from John.

“I’d like to shut your dad up and put you in your place and then maybe I’ll get the Tyson Fury MMA fight.

“Sorry it has come to this but sometimes men have to settle their differences. This is not a friendly encounter.

“I want to go in there and prove a point.”

It is clear behind the scenes that words have been exchanged and an angry verbal clash has brewed up new rivalry.

Many expected a cordial build-up but things could get fiery as the pair begin their quest to promote the clash in the coming weeks.

Fury and Hall’s recent fight

Hall has had just one boxing fight prior, which came in a defeat to fellow strongman Thor Bjornsson in 2022.

But he has fought on multiple occasions in MMA and his most recent outing saw him stop Mariusz Pudzianowski.

As for Fury he has struggled for regular activity in recent years, with one just run-out since beating KSI in 2023.

He was scheduled to face Darren Till in 2025 but was pulled from the bout due to safety concerns.
