Ecuador vs Germany prediction
This is a must-win for Ecuador with just one point picked up so far.
It would be tough to qualify into the next round without a win and just one point picked up given the rest of the group results.
Ecuador managed to draw 0-0 with Curacao and lost just 1-0 to Cote d’Ivoire but now face a tougher challenge in Germany.
That said, Ecuador aren’t out of it if they turn up on Thursday night – with Germany needing a last minute winner and to come back from behind to defeat Ivory Coast.

Ecuador vs Germany betting tips
Struggle for goals?
Germany won the latest clash against Ecuador 4-2 but that was back in May 2013.
They have met in the World Cup before though in their first ever encounter in fact, back in 2006 where Ecuador lost 3-0.
Germany have scored 2 or more goals in the first half in each of those games, even going up 4-1 at half time in their latest friendly.
Ecuador have been struggling for goals this World Cup and could go into the books having not scored all competition.
Germany will be keen on limiting their goals conceded as that’s been a bit of an issue for them – conceding against both Curacao and Cote d’Ivoire already in their victories.
The Germans have conceded in their last seven World Cup matches in a row now which is a record they’ll be keen to see the back of and face a team now struggling for goals which could overturn it.
Cards and player contributions
Despite Germany struggling against Ivory Coast they did show their immense efforts up front with seven goals against Curacao.
A team that fended off Ecuador to a 0-0 draw and it would be unlikely to see Germany who nearly got a shock draw against Ivory Coast, fall at the final group hurdle.
They’ve got plenty of options going forward but it’s Deniz Undav who is cropping up time and time again for Germany, netting a brace to win it late on last week.
They had ample chances to put the game to bed before then but couldn’t however it should be a different game with the knowledge that it would be very unlikely for them to lose the top spot even with a loss here.
Undav came on from the bench just before the hour mark before netting his brace, and came on at a similar time against Curacao before netting once and assisting twice.
He might well even earn a start in this game which would also help rest Kai Havertz more ahead of their knockouts.
One other focus from this match could come from the Premier League players from Ecuador, who we’ve become accustomed to seeing end up in the referee’s books.
So far they’ve only received two yellow cards across the two games, but they could be going for this match as it’s a must-win.
Pervis Estupinan who is now at Milan received five yellow cards in just 19 matches in Serie A last season.
Moises Caicedo has been booked 11 times in every season he’s played for Chelsea, averaging one every three games in the latest season.
