Draymond Green hilariously declares Bob Myers is Daryl Morey’s Michael Jordan

After six years, some massive wins, and a few major losses, the Philadelphia 76ers have officially moved on from Daryl Morey.

While the move was semi-surprising, as the team exceeded expectations in 2026, even if their playoff run ended badly, one person who wasn’t surprised by the decision was Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors forward who had a few epic battles against the Houston Rockets last decade.

Why? Well, because much like in Houston, the 76ers GM ran into Bob Myers, who has been the Michael Jordan to Morey’s John Stockton throughout his career.

“Daryl Morey was fired by the Sixers. If you’re able to be in the running for this job, you’re lucky because you get Bob Myers as a soundboard. Bob Myers has been to Daryl Morey what Michael Jordan was to like Stockton and Malone,” Green said.

“I’m not saying Daryl Morey is Stockton or Malone, but you’ve done some great work, right? You traded for James Harden when nobody believed, gave him a max contract. You built a team with the Houston Rockets that was a very good roster that was built to beat the Golden State Warriors. Go to Philly, sign Tyrese Maxey to a max deal, right? Like, he’s done some good things in Philly.

“Daryl Morey couldn’t get over the hump due to teams that Bob Myers was putting together. And now, Daryl Morey’s gonna lose his role as the president of basketball operations due to Bob Myers making the basketball decisions in Philly. Daryl Morey just kind of keeps running into Bob Myers, and it’s unfortunate. I know Bob means well, but Morey kind of had this one coming.”

Initially hired away from ESPN to serve as the president of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment in October of 2025, fans wondered how the architect of the Warriors dynasty would fit in Philadelphia with one of the most well-known general managers in the business. As it turned out, not well, as after less than a year, Morey is out, and Myers will be tasked with finding a general manager who fits his philosophy.
