‘Don’t get me in any trouble’ – Martin Brundle puts Thierry Henry on the spot during final F1 grid walk

Thierry Henry reproduced his meme-worthy reaction when Martin Brundle accosted him ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Arsenal legend became the latest sporting icon to be put on the spot during the Formula 1 icons’ most infamous grid walks.

Former McLaren star Brundle has become a part of the F1 furniture since retiring, with his grid walks a staple of every race.

Over the years, he’s had viral interactions with Kylian Mbappe, Cara Delevingne, and even Megan Thee Stallion.

The latest saw Brundle insert himself among the viral CBS Sports’ trio of Henry, Micah Richards, and presenter Kate Scott.

Ex-Manchester City defender Richards made a hasty exit upon the 66-year-old’s arrival, leaving his fellow pundit to pick up the slack.

Brundle instantly tasked Henry with choosing a winner from the F1 finale, with three drivers still battling for glory in Abu Dhabi.

Max Verstappen will hope to equal Michael Schumacher‘s feat of winning five straight driver’s championships, starting on pole.

The Dutchman overtook Oscar Piastri in the standings last time out to move to within just 12 points of championship leader Lando Norris.

When choosing who he wants to win the championship, Henry quickly shook his head and told Sky Sports: “May the best win.

“Don’t put me in any trouble, please,” he continued. “I just want to see a good race.

“First and foremost, I’m so happy to be here. I’ve never done what I’m doing right now – being so close to the start is unreal.”

Richards ‘neutral’ for championship pick

Brundle then made a beeline for ex-England international Richards, who apologised for his hasty exit minutes earlier.

On his pick for the 2025 title winner, he stated: “I’m neutral!

“After watching Drive to Survive, I would have said Norris, but I met Max doing something for ‘A League of Their Own’, and he’s the nicest guy ever. So anyone!”

Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner was next up and refused to sit on the fence by claiming McLaren’s Norris has the edge for Sunday.

“It’s great to be here. A lot is on the line for three drivers. Lando has the edge, but you never know. In racing, anything can happen.”
