Dana White makes contact to sign Gervonta Davis in boost for potential mega-fight
Dana White has suggested he has been in contact with Gervonta Davis’ team over a switch to Zuffa Boxing.
Davis’ boxing future is currently up in the air, having been made ‘WBA champion in recess’ after failing to agree a deal to face mandatory challenger Floyd Schofield.

‘Tank’ has faced legal battles outside of the ring which have hampered his career, which has seen him not compete since drawing with Lamont Roach last March.
Reports have indicated that the American is unlikely to fight again until 2027 when his issues are resolved.
However, Zuffa boxing chief White has expressed interest in bringing Davis on board to his growing roster.
And he has revealed that contact has already been made.
I do love Tank Davis. I’m actually a fan and we’ve talked to them,” he said.
“I don’t want to speak for him or whatever, but I have talked to him and I’m a fan.”
Davis has previously been signed with Premier Boxing Champions, but it is unclear if he remains under contract.
The former champion has big selling power and still remains one of the US’s biggest boxing stars despite his inactivity.
Davis vs Stevenson if he signs?
Of course, it would immediately put into sharp focus the potential for a lucrative showdown with Shakur Stevenson.
Saudi chief Turki Alalshikh, who financially backs Zuffa, would likely have the power to make the fight happen.

Stevenson recently signed with Zuffa and White bringing a powerful name to the roster.
And it has been suggested by the four-weight champion that he has been promised a fight with Davis as part of their plan.
White said he ‘didn’t know’ if a fight between the pair would be possible to make.
But Stevenson is confident he will delivered the big nights as part of his contract.
He said: They said ‘we want you to fight the best.’ The guys that they mentioned was Devin and Tank.
“And when I heard that, I’m like, why would I go away from what I’ve been wanting to do my whole career?
