Clear Lamar Jackson trade destination emerges with $212m QB paving way with potential Chiefs move
Has Lamar Jackson played his final game in a Baltimore Ravens uniform?
Quite possibly.

With the Ravens‘ playoff hopes hanging by a thread, where a loss against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night would officially eliminate them from NFL postseason contention, the future of their quarterback remains uncertain.
The two-time NFL MVP has endured an injury-laden 2025 campaign, and has featured in just 12 of a possible 16 games, and is now dealing with a back injury sustained in the Ravens’ 28-24 defeat to the New England Patriots in Week 16.
Jackson has completed 63.7 percent of his passes this season – his lowest completion rate since the 2022 campaign when he also played just 12 games – for 2,311 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.
This is a significant decline from his 2024 campaign, in which he recorded 4,172 yards for a career-best 41 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
But with the Ravens 7-8 on the season with just two games left to play, speculation is beginning to grow over whether the Baltimore front office could make the decision to part ways with their superstar quarterback.
A potential trade destination for the Florida native? None other than the Miami Dolphins.
This comes in light of Miami having appeared to have officially given up on Tua Tagovailoa, benching the $212 million star after just 14 games, after firing a league-leading 15 interceptions (tied with Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith).
With Miami in the market for a quarterback, with reports they could look up to draft Indiana star quarterback Fernando Mendoza in the 2026 draft, they could alternatively look to aggressively pursue an experienced signal caller like that of eight-year veteran Jackson.
This has been further fueled by Tagovailoa being linked with a stunning move to the Kansas City Chiefs as they seek to find a strong backup in the event that Patrick Mahomes isn’t ready to begin the 2026 campaign after suffering a torn ACL in Week 15.
Jackson still has two years left remaining on his $260 million contract, though, albeit at the cap number of $74.5 million in each of those years, and has a no-trade clause in his contract.

However, the former Louisville star previously admitted back in 2022 that whilst he grew up as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dolphins were his second-favorite team.
Therefore, should the Ravens look to move on from the 28-year-old, it isn’t entirely implausible that Jackson wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause to find his way back home to Florida.
Harbaugh addresses relationship with his QB
Trade rumors surrounding Jackson have only elevated in recent weeks after The Baltimore Sun’s Mike Preston made claims that Ravens head coach John Harbaugh may have lost confidence in his quarterback, citing Jackson’s alleged off-field issues.
“The Ravens should explore all options,” Preston wrote. “It’s clear that coach John Harbaugh has become tired of Jackson, even though he builds him up after every game. He has to, or Jackson will go into his own self-exile.”
He further wrote, “Harbaugh is reportedly growing tired of Lamar Jackson’s diminishing work ethic and immaturity that includes late-night gaming and falling asleep during team meetings.”
Claims in the bombshell column were also made stating that the former first-round NFL draft pick has been receiving preferential treatment through it all.

But Harbaugh, in a press conference on Wednesday ahead of their Week 17 clash against the Packers, addressed the claims made by Preston, in which he quickly dismissed the notion that he was unhappy with Jackson.
“I’ll tell you how [I feel], as I’m pretty transparent with all the guys,” Harbaugh said. “I had a great conversation with him this morning about a few things. Football, how he’s feeling, things like that.
“So our relationship is A-plus. I love him. Always have, always will. He’s fighting like crazy to get back. So, these reports… I don’t really need anybody speaking for me. So ask me, and I’ll tell you how I feel.”

But Harbaugh himself could find himself on the chopping block before long, with Baltimore fans having already called for his job after some questionable coaching decisions of late, including his sparse use of All-Pro and future Hall of Fame running back, Derrick Henry.
Whilst he may be a Super Bowl-winning head coach, since winning the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2012, Harbaugh-coached teams are 49-56 in games not started by Jackson.
When the dual-threat quarterback is on the field, the team are 75-27.
With that in mind, it is somewhat inconceivable to think that the Ravens may even consider moving on from their superstar, but stranger things have happened.
Only time will tell on that front.
