Charlton vs QPR predictions

Charlton were doing better in the Championship earlier this season but have slipped down to 18th in the table.

QPR have been unpredictable this season too but are up in 11th place eight points ahead of their London rivals.

The kick-off at 8.01pm is a move as part of a campaign ran by Sky Bet and the British Heart Foundation, initially launched in May 2024.

Charlton vs QPR betting tips

Addicks aim for revenge

Both sides have won twice in their last five matches in the Championship.

But head-to-head, the Hoops won the reverse fixture back in August early on in the season 3-1.

Paul Smyth opened the scoring inside eight minutes for QPR and the Addicks managed to pull one back shortly after the break.

QPR got the winner in the 84th minute to take the lead back and further secured the victory in the last minute via Richard Kone.

Charlton must reverse the form as they are in some danger of slipping further down in the table.

Cards galore

QPR’s top scorer with ten goals is Rumarn Burrell scoring on average every 2.6 games.

Burrell has ten goals to his name in the Championship while Charlton’s top scorer Sonny Carey only has seven and there’s a few players that are coming up with goals rather than one clear top scorer.

But there’s definitely a couple of players who are often getting carded, Amadou Mbengue who signed on from Reading has been carded nine times in just 27 appearances and even received a red card against Wrexham a couple of weeks ago.

That was a crucial card in the end as Wrexham went from 2-1 down to scoring two late goals after that red card.

The yellow cards could be dished out to other Hoops too as Jimmy Dunne has four and Rhys Norrington-Davies has picked up four.

With Mbengue being transitioned into a full-back rather than his usual centre-back role he had with Reading, he’s more prone to being carded and despite having a discussion with boss Julien Stephan, it may not rule out another card on his return from suspension.

Charlton’s leader in yellow cards is Lloyd Jones, with a fair few players each getting four or more including Harvey Knibbs, Conor Coventry and Greg Docherty.

This looks destined for a close battle and that will surely increase the chances of another couple of cards.
