Carlos Alcaraz pulls out of Wimbledon as seven-time Grand Slam winner gives statement
Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from Wimbledon due to a wrist injury.
The world No.2 has confirmed he will not be fit in time to play at SW19 in June and July.

Alcaraz had already pulled out of this month’s French Open due to the injury.
However, he has now revealed he will miss the grass court season later this summer, with the main tournaments Queen’s and Wimbledon.
Alcaraz statement
The seven-time Grand Slam champion announced the news in a statement on social media.
In a post shared to Instagram, Alcaraz wrote: “My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to compete, which is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon.
“They are two truly special tournaments for me and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible!”
This year’s Wimbledon men’s singles main draw is scheduled to begin on June 29 and will run through until the final on July 12.
The Queen’s Club Championships begin two weeks prior on June 15.
Alcaraz has been out of action since withdrawing from the Barcelona Open in April.
The 23-year-old was forced to pull out of the tournament ahead of his second round match against Tomas Machac.
It came after he had required a medical timeout during his opening match at the event.

He was later pictured with his wrist in a brace at the Madrid Open as he watched on from the stands.
In his absence,Jannik Sinner claimed the title in the Spanish capital before winning the Italian Open in Rome last week.
The world No.1 is now a strong favourite to defend his title at Wimbledon after beating Alcaraz in last year’s final.
His victory on Centre Court 12 months ago followed a five-set epic in the French Open final.
Alcaraz is a two-time Wimbledon champion after previous wins in 2023 and 2024.
Meanwhile, he bounced back from his defeat to Sinner by winning the US Open and Australian Open.

Those wins saw him complete the career Grand Slam as well as taking his tally of major victories to seven.
His first chance to win an eighth Grand Slam title will now have to wait until the US Open in August.
