Cardi B loses it as Stefon Diggs sends message to doubters amid resurfaced Stephen A. Smith clip
Stefon Diggs is finally heading to the Super Bowl.
The veteran wide receiver has had to bide his time, but after 11 years in the NFL playing for four different teams, the 32-year-old’s chance at getting his hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy has finally come.

And, it’s come with one of the most successful franchises in NFL history – the New England Patriots.
In a snowy affair in the Mile High City against the No. 1 seeded Denver Broncos, Drake Maye, Diggs and co managed to walk away with a 10-7 victory and the all-important AFC Championship title that punches their ticket to Super Bowl LX.
In attendance to watch Diggs achieve the next step of his dream to win a ring was Grammy Award-winning rapper girlfriend Cardi B, with whom he welcomed a baby together back in November.
Following the Patriots’ victory, Cardi B – who revealed she will be attending the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California – spoke with NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe about the magnitude of her partner’s achievement.
“I’m feeling very excited. I’m feeling very happy for him, very proud of him,” Cardi B told Wolfe.
“He just came back from a [torn] ACL and we’ve seen the progress and process of him – the first time he started running back, now joining the Patriots and actually going to the Super Bowl.
“I’m just very excited for him, very excited for the whole team. They’ve been working their butts out.
When with the Houston Texans in 2024, Diggs sustained a torn ACL in Week 8, but after some serious offseason rehab, including an unusual private workout, the wideout was available to begin the 2026 campaign.
“Discipline and work. It’s not like you wake up and you great. It’s discipline,” Cardi B cited as to how Diggs got his body right to come back onto the field so quickly.
“It’s going to bed early, waking up early. It’s not missing one day of work, nothing. It’s simple, hard discipline.”

Diggs gets emotional after winning AFC Championship
It’s been quite the season for the four-time Pro Bowler, racking up 1,013 receiving yards and four touchdowns from 85 receptions in 17 games as the Patriots pipped his former team, the Buffalo Bills, to the AFC East title.
Although he has made his recovery – despite some off-field controversy that risked him being cut before the season began – look easy with his on-field play, Diggs got emotional talking about the journey he underwent to get to this moment.
“I’m just so proud of this team, man,” an emotional Diggs said in his postgame interview with Wolfe. “You don’t know how hard this year has been bro. Battling an injury and coming back.
“Being around the right group of guys, a great quarterback, a great OC, a great team, a great head coach. It made it all worth it – all the hard work and we got one more.”
As Diggs broke down in tears, sideline reporter Wolfe asked him about what he wanted to prove after hearing the doubts many had over whether he would be able to return back to full form after his injury.
“They were calling me washed. Saying I didn’t have it anymore. I just wanted to prove it to myself that I am who I say I am.

Receipts are coming out as old clips resurface
After Diggs secured his first trip to the Super Bowl, old clips began making the rounds on social media of media figure Stephen A. Smith doubting his choice to sign with New England due to Maye entering the 2025 campaign as a second-year pro.
“I’m just wondering about Stefon Diggs,” Smith said on First Take back in March. “You go from Josh Allen to CJ Stroud to Drake Maye? You sure about that bro?

“Are you sure? I think that is just a legitimate question to ask because no matter what you are as a receiver, it don’t mean a damn thing if the quarterback can’t get you the football.”
But Diggs was right to put his trust in Maye, who had a breakout campaign and was named a finalist for the coveted regular season MVP award, alongside that of Matthew Stafford, Allen, Trevor Lawrence and Christian McCaffrey.
It is widely expected that it will come down to either he or Stafford, based on the All-Pro teams voting by the Associated Press.
Diggs, though, feels the honor should ultimately go to his teammate.
“That’s a soldier man,” Diggs said of Maye. “That’s an MVP man. That’s a guy who stands 10 toes, battles through adversity.
“He’s a helluva player. I’m riding with Drake Maye. I’m thankful to have a quarterback like that and I’m gonna give him everything I’ve got every time.”
