‘Can’t stop crying’ – Jake Paul in tears after Jutta Leerdam breaks Olympic record to win gold

Jake Paul was overcome with emotion after watching his fiancée Jutta Leerdam win gold and set an Olympic record.

The Dutch speed skater finished first in the 1000m race ahead of her compatriot, Femke Kok, and Japanese star Miho Takagi in third.

Leerdam won with a time of 1:12.31 minutes to set a new record at the Winter Olympics and claim her first-ever gold medal at the games.

Watching in the stands was her husband-to-be and YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, who wildly celebrated her achievement in Italy.

In footage posted on social media, he can be seen with his arms in the air in apparent shock at the victory.

Paul is also in visible tears and continues the celebrations by hugging those standing around him.

“Juttttttttttaaaaaaaa,” he posted on X. “I can’t stop crying. You did it my love. Olympic Gold. God is great and so are you.”

Leerdam’s winning time was marginally better than that of Kok, who actually set the Olympic record in her pairing with 1:12.59.

However, she lost the prestigious title minutes later when her fellow Dutchwoman made her own piece of history.

Gold medal success for Leerdam comes four years after taking silver at the Beijing Games.

But the 27-year-old has now stood at the top of the podium herself thanks to her excellent performance.

Leerdam is also due to race in the 500m event on February 15.

Dream turns into reality

Paul, who had a public disagreement with his brother Logan over the Super Bowl halftime show, flew into Italy last week.

He uploaded a video of his arrival at the games, during which he gave Leerdam a bouquet of flowers and a card.

The pair also filmed a message together that was addressed to their future children.

“Your Mom is about to go for gold!” said Paul, and Leerdam followed it up with a historic race.

They could be set for similar scenes later this week in the 500m race now that Leerdam has a taste for Olympic gold.
