Caitlin Clark reveals new chapter with kids book release

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is adding a new project off the court, with a children’s book based on her life set for release this fall. Random House Books for Young Readers announced Tuesday that Clark’s picture book, EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams,” will be published Nov. 3.

Written in rhyming verse, the book centers on themes of effort, perseverance and the importance of support systems. The project was inspired by a message Clark saw daily growing up, an inscription above the mirror in her childhood bedroom that read, “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is the little EXTRA.” The book will feature illustrations by Adriana Predoi.

“Basketball has given me so many incredible opportunities, but what has always meant the most to me are the people who’ve supported me along the way,” Clark said in a statement, via Associated Press reported Hillel Italie. “I hope this book reminds kids that they’re never alone in chasing their dreams and that giving a little extra to the people and moments is what makes them EXTRAordinary.”

Clark, 24, is widely credited with helping elevate women’s basketball. The Indiana Fever guard recently returned to action after injuries limited her to 13 games during the 2025 season. She scored seven points in a preseason win over the New York Liberty.

In addition to notching seven points, Clark also finished with four assists and three rebounds while shooting 2-for-10 from the field in Saturday’s 109-91 win over the Liberty.

Coach Stephanie White said Clark’s impact extended beyond her shooting numbers.

“She was good,” White said. “You know, I think we play differently when she’s on the floor. And so again, learning how to to play with her in the action. I thought she was good, I thought she didn’t force anything, she played with great intention, and everything that she did was in the flow.”

White added that Clark’s scoring will come as she adjusts.

“She was communicating at a high level. I mean, if we’re talking about the shot making, like, that’s going to come, they play her differently in the W than they do in international basketball, and so we’ve just got to find ways to free her up, to get her some easy looks,” White said.
