Burnley are right within the relegation battle with three losses and two draws in their last five not helping their chances.

Going into this gameweek they are six points adrift of Nottingham Forest who are out of the relegation zone so are once again in dire need of all three points.

They face a Newcastle side who are not in the best of forms themselves but who pose a very significant threat of putting them in further trouble.

Woltemade continues record

Having lost Alexander Isak, their top scorer, in the summer to Liverpool the Magpies have relied on new signing Nick Woltemade to instantly make a change in his first season with the club.

He’s done just that with seven goals in just 15 appearances as he presents a massive aeriel presence being the ultimate target man.

Their set-pieces could be enough to see them defeat Burnley but it looks as though they’ll be too strong in open play too.

They enjoy high energy pressing high up the pitch which will suit against the Clarets.

Burnley often like to try to pass it around the back to create openings further up the pitch but will likely get caught out against Newcastle.

Newcastle relentless return

The Magpies haven’t won in three games but it’s that close between 3rd and mid-table a couple of wins can put them back into the conversation of a top six finish.

They lost narrowly to Man United on Boxing Day after a tough 2-2 draw with Chelsea six days prior.

Those weren’t easy matches especially after their 1-0 loss to rivals Sunderland that can’t have helped the lack of momentum.

They beat Burnley earlier this month with Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon scoring in the first half before a late penalty for Burnley saw it finish 2-1.

Lucas Pires was sent off 43 minutes in which helped the Magpies claim, as they were dominant throughout which should finish a similar way.
