Burnley v Bournemouth prediction
Bournemouth make the trip to Lancashire as odds on favourites for victory against Burnley as they carry a nine match unbeaten run with them, a string of results which has seen them climb into the top half of the Premier League table and in the conversation for European qualification.
Andoni Iraola’s side head into the weekend sat ninth in the standings, just three points behind the top eight, which is expected to be good enough to qualify for the Conference League next season, which would be the club’s first ever competing in European competition.
Despite their long unbeaten run ahead of their visit to Turf Moor, the Cherries would have liked to have collected more wins in recent weeks, with last Tuesday’s goalless draw against Brentford in their last outing their third consecutive stalemate and their fourth in five matches.
The Dorset side have won two of their last three matches on the road though, and are unbeaten in their last five in the league on their travels, a run they’ll be looking to extend against a struggling Burnley side.
Burnley head into Saturday afternoon’s clash on the back of consecutive defeats against Brentford and Everton in their last two outings, leaving them now nine points from safety with as many games to played of the season.
Scott Parker’s side have won just one of their last 20 matches in the Premier League, a barren run they’ll be needing to correct if they’re to stand any chance of survival, with the majority of teams above them managing to pick up points in recent weeks.
The Clarets have the worst home record in the Premier League, having picked up just 10 points from their 14 matches in front of their home fans throughout the season, as well as defeats in each of their last three home outings in all competitions.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last three matches against Burnley, and have won on each of their last two visits to Turf Moor, and can be expected to make it three on the spin on Saturday, a 2-0 away win seeming a likely score line.
