Bruno Fernandes joins Mo Salah in elite five-man club with rare feat as Manchester United enter top six
Bruno Fernandes achieved a very rare Premier League feat on Monday night as Manchester United entered the top six.
The Red Devils jumped up to sixth in the table with a 4-1 win away at Wolves, with captain Fernandes starring at Molineux.

Ruben Amorim‘s side took the lead through their skipper in the first half, as he bundled the ball through Sam Johnstone.
After a Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equaliser, Bryan Mbuemo regained the lead for Man United and then Fernandes turned provider for Mason Mount for the third goal.
And he went on to net his second of the night to wrap things up from the penalty spot with ten minutes to go.
He scored two, but it was with his assist that he joined an exclusive five-man club.
The Portugal international became just the fifth player ever in the Premier League to assist a goal in five consecutive away matches.
Fernandes’ impressive streak started in October, as he assisted Harry Maguire‘s dramatic late winner at Anfield against Liverpool.
The Man United superstar then set up Casemiro against Nottingham Forest and Matthijs de Ligt against Tottenham Hotspur.
Two more assists came in the win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on November 30 before his fifth straight came on Monday.
His run of providing goals has seen him now join an elite group of Premier League players to have done the same.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who is involved in all the headlines due to his recent controversial comments, is one of them.

Players to assist in five straight Premier League away games
- Bruno Fernandes (2025)
- Mohamed Salah (2023)
- Gerard Deulofeu (2015)
- Cesc Fabregas (2014/2015)
- Muzzy Izzet (2003)

Salah did so for the Reds in 2023, with ex-Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu the most recent before that in 2015.
Arsenal legend Cesc Fabregas managed it for Chelsea in 2014/15.
And Leicester City icon Muzzy Izzet was the first to assist five goals in five straight away games in the Premier League back in 2003.
Fernandes on fire
On top of that feat, Fernandes’ stats have seen him close in on some big names across Europe’s top five leagues.
With six assists in total now this season, only two players have more.
Bayern Munich‘s Michael Olise (eight) and Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal (seven) sit just above Fernandes in the European assist rankings.

By scoring and assisting against Wolves, the Man United captain made it 16 games that he has done both in the same game.
Only Salah (27) and Kevin De Bruyne (17) have both scored and assisted in the same game more often since Fernandes’ debut.
It was also the eighth time he recorded three goal involvements in an English top-flight game, with this being the first time since March last season against Leicester.
‘A joy to play with’
Mount discussed Fernandes’ assist for his goal post-match.
“As soon as I saw Bruno with the ball, it was my trigger to get in behind,” the Man United midfielder told Sky Sports.
He added on playing with Fernandes: “We all know the calibre of player he is and as soon as he gets on the ball, he’s looking.
“He’s a joy to play with when playing high up on the pitch, you know he’s going to look and play a ball over the top.
