Bruins’ Viktor Arvidsson, Nikita Zadorov injury updates for do-or-die Game 5
The Boston Bruins have to be wondering when they will catch a break in their series against the Buffalo Sabres, as a 3-1 hole looks even worse with some injuries affecting regulars in their lineup. Game 4 on home ice was one of the most embarrassing losses in recent memory for Boston, and they’ll now need to dig deep with three straight wins to advance. A big part of Game 5 on Tuesday will be injury updates on Viktor Arvidsson and Nikita Zadorov, according to Steve Conroy via X, formerly Twitter.
“Sturm said both Arvidsson and Zadorov are questionable for tomorrow,” Conroy reported. “He also said to pay no attention to line combos today. He’s still got decisions to make.”
Zadorov has been battling through an injury that he suffered early in Game 3. He exited the game to go to the locker room for a portion of the first period, but did return. The slow-footed defender was visibly even slower than usual, as it was evident that he was battling through something.
The Bruins didn’t give Zadorov an official designation for Game 4, but there were rumors that the team had someone who would be a game-time decision. With seven defensemen on the ice for warmups, the assumption was that the player was Zadorov.
Arvidsson has been a revelation for the Bruins this season after the Edmonton Oilers dumped him off to Boston in the offseason. His line was a big reason why the team made a run to the postseason, and having him and Zadorov out for Game 5 will dramatically increase the team’s chances of mounting a comeback.
