Bruins sign top-six forward to two-year contract
The Boston Bruins on Sunday signed Swiss forward Attilio Biasca to a two-year contract that runs through the 2027-28 season. The deal carries an annual NHL salary cap hit of $980,000.
Biasca, 23, joins Boston after an impressive 2025-26 campaign with HC Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland’s National League. The 6-foot-1 forward appeared in 45 games and recorded 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists while finishing with a plus-20 rating. He ranked second on the club in goals and played a crucial role in helping Fribourg-Gotteron secure the first Swiss League championship in franchise history.
The Zug, Switzerland native has spent the last three seasons playing professionally in his home country. Before joining Fribourg-Gottrron, Biasca spent two seasons with EV Zug, producing 30 goals and 22 assists for 52 points across 129 career National League games between the two organizations.
Biasca also gained significant experience in North America with the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads from 2020-23. Across 118 games, he garnered 81 points, scoring 37 goals and adding 44 assists. He served as Halifax’s captain during the 2022-23 season before returning to Switzerland.
On the international stage, Biasca represented Switzerland at the 2026 IIHF World Championship, helping the national team win a silver medal. He tallied one goal and two assists in 10 tournament games and concluded with a plus-6 rating. During the event, he frequently skated alongside NHL players Nico Hischier and Timo Meier. Biasca has also represented Switzerland at three World Junior Championships and the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship.
The signing marks the Bruins’ first external roster addition of the offseason and the organization’s third contract announcement. Earlier in the summer, Boston extended Lukas Reichel on a two-year deal and Navrin Mutter on a one-year, two-way contract.
Biasca is expected to compete for opportunities within the Bruins organization as he returns to North America for the first time since 2023.
