Brighton don’t have a great record against Aston Villa, in the last nine games they’ve won just once which did come at home back in May 2024 but have lost six against the Villans.

Villa have won three of their last four away games, of course that 2024 fixture they lost came two seasons ago and it seems it’s as close as ever.

Coming into this week they’re separated by just two points both in impressive positions in 5th and 4th respectively with each having +5 goal difference.

Villa started the season horribly without scoring in their first five Premier League games.

Since then they’ve scored 16 though and are on a great run even recently winning four in their last five.

They may not have scored as many as any other side in the top 13 clubs but have only conceded 11 which may make it tough for Brighton to find a way through.

But with 21 goals in their season so far and as many as 16 conceded, it does promise to have at least a couple of goals to make it entertaining for both fans and neutrals watching along.

A win for Villa would keep them right in the top four conversation as they now start to put even more pressure on City and Chelsea.

Villa have won four of their last six games in the league played on a Wednesday as well.

But Villa often fall in December

However, they may fare well against Brighton but for some reason there’s a bit of a trend with them struggling during the month of December as a whole.

They’ve lost their last four league away games in this month and Unai Emery has won just four of his last 21 away games during December too, drawing six and losing 11.

With all that considered a draw looks even more likely to come to fruition than a win for either side.
