Brazil legend’s son makes England Under-15s debut
Thiago Silva’s son, Iago Silva, made his international debut for England’s Under-15s last week.
The 14-year-old defender, who is also eligible for Brazil, kickstarted his Young Lions career by Matt Thorpe’s under-15 side against Cyprus on Tuesday, February 10.

The match represented the first of two for England during a training camp in Cyprus.
They went on to keep a clean sheet as they claimed a 3-0 victory against their hosts.
England followed up the victory by coming from behind to beat the USA 4-3 on Saturday.
Iago had previously attended a training camp at St. George’s Park back in October.
However, his start against Cyprus represented his first international appearance.
The teenager is eligible for England as he was aged under 10 when he moved to the country after his dad joined Chelsea in 2020.
Iago, who was born in Brazil, could still choose to follow in his father’s footsteps in the future.
Silva has won 113 caps for the Selecao during his career, scoring seven goals for his country.
The 41-year-old has also been part of their squad for the last four World Cups.
Having not featured since the previous tournament in 2022, Silva’s chances of featuring at this summer’s tournament are slim.

The ex-Chelsea man re-joined Portuguese club Porto on a deal until the end of the season in December.
Silva spent four years at Stamford Bridge between 2020 and 2024, making 155 appearances for the Blues.
He also won three trophies including the Champions League and Club World Cup.
Iago is joined in the club’s academy by his older brother Isago, who also plays as a defender.
Isago is a member of Chelsea’s under-18 squad, having joined the youth system at under-13 level.
The 17-year-old signed his first professional deal in December through to the summer of 2028.
