Boxing’s youngest ever undisputed champion drops and pummels rival in electric KO
Gabriela Fundora showed exactly why she belongs in the history books.
At the age of 22 in 2024, Fundora cemented her legacy in the sport forever by becoming the youngest undisputed world champion [male or female] since the turn of the four-belt era.

The bright young talent snatched the record from fellow American Devin Haney who was 23 when he originally held the record after beating George Kambosos Jr.
The towering phenom made two defences of her flyweight titles in 2025, and was looking to retain her titles for the third consecutive time against Viviana Ruiz.
It was to be a challenging task for Ruiz, the engineer-turned-boxer, who was making a huge step-up in class.
And so it proved with the now 23-year-old Fundora using her size advantage to perfection and delivering an emphatic victory.
Fundora’s emphatic KO
Fundora delivered on her fight week promise to entertain the fans once again, as she came out in a fine vein.
She outlanded her opponent from the opening bell, but it was the fourth round when a breakthrough was made.
The American landed a swift three-punch combination which sent Ruiz stumbling to the canvas, but she was able to return to her feet before being saved by the bell.
Pressure mounted in the fifth upon the resumption of action, and it looked ominous for Ruiz who could barely lay a glove on the rampant champion.
And in the sixth period, Fundora upped the ante and sensed a finish landing a battering barrage on Ruiz who was struggling to throw a single punch in response.
She was taking some vicious punishment and the referee decided to step in and halt the action, with Ruiz absorbing significant damage from the powerful flurry.
It was yet another superb victory for the heavy-handed flyweight, who looks unstoppable right now.
On her victory she said: “I think it was a good performance. I think she felt my punches right away.”
What next for Fundora?
It was a fourth straight stoppage victory for ‘Sweet Poison’ who is now lacking challenges after improving her professional record to 18-0.
She has stunningly indicated that her next move could well be to cut weight and try to make 108lbs.
It would be an unprecedented attempt, which if she can pull off, can lead to more huge nights.
Undisputed at a new weight would then likely be the goal with unified champion Evelyn Bermudez or WBC titleholder Lourdes Juarez seen as potential options.
