Bournemouth vs Aston Villa predictions
Bournemouth went on a bit of a poor spell before winning three and drawing once in their last four for a great run.
That’s lifted them to 12th in the table, still some distance off the top six but still a great run to build up at this time of the season, especially after losing their top scorer.
The Cherries have won two of their last four Premier League games 3-2 – beating both Tottenham and Liverpool by that scoreline.
They reaffirmed that form with a decisive 2-0 victory over struggling Wolves on Saturday away from home, but now face a stark reality that this run could come to an end against a strong Aston Villa side in the top three.
Bournemouth vs Aston Villa betting tips
Villa to halt Cherries strong run?
Aston Villa are favourites but still a great price, that said, they lost 1-0 to Brentford last Saturday, despite playing much of the game with an extra man after Kevin Schade was sent off shortly before the break.
Brentford went 1-0 despite being a man down just five minutes later and Villa were left frustrated after having so many chances to start a comeback.
They won’t likely make the same mistake again even though it felt like a return to the start of the season when they went four league games without a goal.
Plethora of players to make a difference
Junior Kroupi scored against Wolves on Saturday and Tottenham earlier in January, while Evanilson also slotted home against Spurs and Liverpool.
Marcus Tavernier netted their only goal against Brighton in the 1-1 draw, with other players also stepping up to score crucial goals in Antoine Semenyo’s absence.
However, goals from Villa could also come from an array of players too.
Ollie Watkins (8), Morgan Rogers (7), Emiliano Buendia (5) and Donyell Malen (4) are a few examples and the players leading the club in goals and it wouldn’t be a surprise if either player crops up with another goal.
Bournemouth and Villa have been involved in plenty of high scoring goals this season, especially recently for the Cherries and it’s easy to see this game end in similar fashion.
- Bet on over 2 goals, Villa to win, Watkins to score at 15/4 on SBK
- Back Rogers and Kroupi to score, Villa to win at 18/1 on SBK
