Barcelona vs Real Mallorca predictions
Because of the dramatic scenes we have seen at Real Madrid over the last few weeks, Barcelona have not received too much attention. Hansi Flick will not mind that one bit.
Things are ticking over nicely at the Camp Nou. Despite earlier defeats by Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, Barcelona won their final three games of the Champions League league phase to secure a top-eight finish and a direct passage to the round of 16.
They are safely through to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey too, having beaten Albacete (the second-tier side who stunned Madrid in the previous round) in the last eight on Tuesday night.
And in the bread and butter that is La Liga, Flick’s side continue to lead the way. Top of the table after winning 11 of their last 12 matches in Spain’s top tier, Barcelona are the bookies’ favourites to win the title.
Yet despite the turbulence that has threatened to engulf Madrid over the last month or two, they are within touching distance of their arch-rivals.
Barcelona’s only slip-up since their defeat in the Clasico in October came in the form of a 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad last month. That is the sort of result that can happen from time to time, but it allowed Madrid to close the gap to top spot.
Despite some difficult episodes in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, where Madrid failed to finish in the top eight after losing to Benfica on matchday eight, the Blancos have collected 18 points from the last 18 available in the league.
As such, they are just one point behind Barcelona heading into this weekend. Make no mistake: this is a two-horse race, not a procession.
Barcelona may hold the advantage as things stand. As well as leading their chief adversaries by a point, the second Clasico of the campaign will take place at the Camp Nou, not the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
But there is still plenty of football to be played in 2025/26 and the defeat by Real Sociedad last month demonstrated that Barcelona are not infallible.
“I don’t care about other teams,” Flick said in December when he was asked for his assessment of the goings-on at Madrid.
With the Blancos now hot on Barcelona’s heels, he might soon have to change his stance.
Barcelona vs Real Mallorca betting tips
Barcelona and Real Mallorca will butt heads in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.
Mallorca can keep score down
Real Mallorca are huge underdogs on Saturday. Fourteenth in the table, they are just two points clear of the relegation zone. Mallorca still have plenty of work to do to secure survival.
It is hard to see them getting anything against Barcelona, who have been dominant domestically for months now.
However, it is worth backing Mallorca to avoid suffering anything heavier than a two-goal loss at the Camp Nou.
Their goal difference of -6 is respectable and demonstrates that Jagoba Arrasate’s side are usually competitive.
On top of that, seven of Barcelona’s last eight league wins have been by a maximum of a two-goal margin.

Tight first half?
Barcelona were able to shuffle their pack against Albacete on Tuesday, but that game still contributed to what has been a busy schedule over the last few weeks.
If Real Mallorca defend with discipline and diligence, they could frustrate Barcelona in the opening 45 minutes.
Barca struck twice in the opening period against Elche last time out, but they scored in only one of their five previous first halves in La Liga.
Flick’s men often run riot after the interval, but there is a good chance that goals will be on the low end between minutes one and 45.

Raphinha to make mark
It is remarkable to think now, but Raphinha’s days at Barcelona appeared to be numbered before Flick took charge.
In the last 18 months, however, the Brazil international has arguably been his team’s standout performer.
The 29-year-old is a threat to opposition defences in virtually every match he plays. Since the start of December he has scored six goals in nine matches in all competitions.
Raphinha missed the Albacete game through injury, but he is expected to be back in time for Saturday. No one would be surprised if he made it seven goals in his last 10 outings when Real Mallorca head to Catalonia.
